July 19...

Well, six years ago yesterday I got married. And now it has been two years since my divorce. I have some great friends who gave me a call to see how I was doing yesterday with it being July 19. However, until they called I had no idea what the date was. Life is moving along well. Sure I can reflect on how right now in 2009 on July 20 I would never have imagined myself divorced but I am learning to lean on God for strength.

Everyday gets a bit easier. Sure there are times I miss being with someone and not being alone but I have good friends and a great family who support me and love me. Even when I was married there were times of loneliness. Now I cling to God even more for strength. I lean on Him for understanding and guidance. I have learned so much about myself over these past couple of years. The places God has taken me has been hard at times but so worth the journey.

I get excited to see how God is going to continue to use me and move me this year and years to come!

Just Getting Away...

This weekend, after work tomorrow, I am going up north to visit some college friends. I am looking forward to getting away and relaxing a bit. This week has been very stressful and overwhelming. Trying to do the juggling act as always. I bet you are all tired of me talking about it really.

It is so nice to get away even if it is just for 48 hours. Sometimes leaving it all behind helps put things in perspective. At least for me it does. I am looking forward to seeing my friends from college and just hanging out!

Man, the good old days of college when my biggest worry was not wanting to get up and go to class. Or trying to figure out what I needed from Wal-mart just to have an excuse to go there. I tell you back in college life was good. Now almost 10 years later I think about how life has changed so drastically for me. Some for the better, some of it not for the better. But through it all it is still good.

New memories have been made and I have grown so much since college. I would not change these experiences for anything!

Love

I know, how cheesy my title is love on Valentine's Day! But really today has really been making me think. Sure, I could be sad that I don't have a boyfriend or anything like that and feel all depressed and lonely. But really, I don't. I look at today and think about how truly blessed and loved I am.

I have a family that loves me to no end. My sister is my bestest friend and Tom, her husband cares much for me, when were not going head to head on issues we don't see eye to eye on. But really they show me unconditional love everyday. And then there is the rest of the fab five, Adam and Amanda who I can always count on through thick and thin and consider family too!

And my friends are great too. My friends from church like Meg and Adam and Laura are so kind and there for me and my closest girlfriends Deanna, Katie and Jessica who would go the extra mile for me just because. But then all my new friends that I am meeting and getting to know through Anthem of Hope. Like Darren, Colleen, Gen, Kristi. God blows me away every time I think about how He brings just the right people into your life at just the right times when you need it most.

Today's Blessing Report: I am truly loved and cared for and so thankful for the many ways God shows His love through the closest people in my life!

So Blessed...

This week has been a world wind of sorts. Everyday this week I have been at the Doctor's office for one test or another. Today was the neuro-opthomologist. The good news is that at this point there is no pressure behind my eye. The bad news is that if the spinal tap comes back normal and it isn't the shunt that is broken....More tests and new docs.

However, despite all of this, I have had the best week. I am so loved and cared for around here. I really appreciate all the support and love everyone has shown me. I am blown away by the peace and strength I feel in this time of uncertainty.

No matter what happens I am so blessed. It reminds me of that song. Blessed be your name. My favorite line is "He gives and takes away and still my heart will say, blessed be His name." That is what my heart keeps saying...No matter what happens, Blessed be God's name and His plan will only make me stronger in Him!

Today's Blessing Update: Still have vision, looking forward to what God is going to do through this situation!
