Living in the Present

Do you ever feel like you are living for the next stage of your life? Do you feel like if you just check this off your list or that off your list then you are living? I feel that way sometimes. I always am living for the future. Also, living a few months or years ahead.

Lately, I have been really trying to live each day as it comes. To try not and look ahead but to deal with the day at hand. Each day has its own joys and troubles. I find that lately if I focus on the day at hand then things don't seem so overwhelming. Also, living in the moment helps you to enjoy the things in life and your not racing through each day trying to get to the next.

What are some ways you can live in the moment and not jump ahead? I find that praying each morning and asking God to help me live for the day has helped. It reminds me to be in the present and not speed through life.

I am not saying not to have goals and future plans but just take getting there one step at a time. Just enjoy a few things along the way. I know I am making that my new goal!

I feel like that with my kids a lot. Everything is so rush rush. I just want to enjoy them now and at each stage. Time fly's. I find myself thinking if "they were older we could."

Good for you. Enjoy each day as it comes. I have finally learned to do this myself and it has been such a blessing.
